Extensive work has been undertaken to develop the biodiversity of the balancing ponds on the Mackley Industrial Estate. The balancing ponds were originally constructed to provide additional surface water catchment to prevent any flood risk in times of flash flood or heavy rainfall. With planting and maintenance these are now a very attractive habitat for wild life, which includes a family of moorhens and a variety goldfish including some carp.
Biodiversity thrives on the Industrial Estate
